Default slight knick out of one caliper rubber gaitor around piston

While pushing back the pistons in the caliper i slipped and managed to slightly knick one of the rubber gaitors around the piston. Will this cause the caliper to leak now or is this gaitor just to prevent dirt getting in and corroding the piston and then restricting its movement? If it is then its such a small knick I'm inclined to leave it and then get the caliper reconditioned later on....anyone know?

Default

It's just a dust seal
But a new seal now will cheaper and easier than a full recon of the caliper later on.
