Cool EBC Redstuff

Just taken delivery of new Redstuff pads (for 53 STI gold brembos) and hopefully having them fitted at the weekend.
Can anyone tell me what the cables are for, attached to the pads?

probably wear indicators to tell you that the pads are badly worn

I suspect it's a pad wear indicator, when the pads get low it should flash a light up on the dash, not sure if a MY 03 has this though, should tell you in the manual.
Hope this helps

The original pads have a metal wear indicator which rubs against the disc, making a horrible noise, when the pad wears down below a set thickness. The new pad probably suits other applications using the same brakes which have an electrical wear indicator set-up. Just cut it off?

If your old pads do not have the wear indicator, just cut them off.
