Default 10.000 mls + tyre's

Do these exist ? most thread's you read seem to reveal the same, need new tyre's and they have only covered 9-10.000 mls.My bugeye will need a new set soon but is there a tyre which goes the distance say 20.000 mls.the car only cover's 90% general driving (wife going to work) and 10% hard driving (my turn ) never push the car to much in the wet but don''t wanna slip off the road either!. The car is fitted with Bridgestone potenza re 010 at the front and 011 at the back. 215/45/17 Any idea's ?

Depends on the kind of roads you use. My last set of Goodyear F1s (admittedly the GSD2's not the 3's) lasted a little over 18k miles, the present set have gone over 14k and still have a reasonable amount left. My Re010's only lasted 9-10k, but I've moved since then - old place had loads of roundabouts before I could get anywhere.

Keep the pressures right, keep the geometry settings right, and rotate them front-rear by the time the fronts get down to 4mm of tread all help extend the life a bit.

Pirelli P6000 didnt cut it on my Volvo s40 1.8,
fitting them to a Subaru is a try before you buy job.
(As in try something else and buy that)

Was surprised just how many make's are available through mytyres, i guess it's go with the flow, and choose Toyo / gds 3 / allthough my classic had Falkan tyre's fitted and they seemed to be ok for the price!

Mike,
If you go for Toyo's,I know someone who who is a main dealer for them and has said he won't be beaten on price for them.He will also service a car for a good price and I trust him,as they will be setting the geometry up on mine shortly!!
Regards
Dean

P6000 are okay when new but perform badly when even half worn. I swapped to Toyo T1S' and found the Toyos to be far betteron my T5 Volvo . If you want grip your tyres will wear quicker. If you want longevity you will sacrifice grip. Each to their own........

Guess you can't have it all, like most thing's. It's not the price of the tyre's that determine's my choice, but it pay's to research these thing's for feed-back. Just before i sold my classic i fitted gds 3's but only covered about 100 mls with them so never got the chance experiance how good they were!

Dean you got PM mate
