Disc Grooves - Which Way Round ??
HI,
I have a set of Godspeed 335's fitted to my car with the Brembo Red calipers.
I got them 2nd hand and have no instructions for fitting them.
I would like to know which way round or which side of the car have you got each disc.
I have fitted them with the grooves in the discs running in a 6 o clock position at the hub, curving back to 11 o clock at the O.D. of the disc direction.
Is this correct, incorrect or does'nt it matter.
Thanks in advance
Ste

If the vented vanes are curved (they usually are) then it's vital they are curving the right way, much more important than getting the grooves right.
The curved vanes act like a pump impellor pumping air through the disc. Put the discs on the wrong side and the vanes will be trying to pump air from the outside in and fighting the natural pumping action from the discs turning, ie from inside to out.
As the wheels turn forwards the curved vanes need to be curving backwards, ie as the disc turns the vanes spiral outwards taking the air with it. Pickie on the AP Racing website
Of course if the vanes are right then the grooves will be pointing the way the maunfacturer intended.

Thanks for the info and the picture fellas.
Luckily (no skill involved what so ever ) I've fitted them the right way first time.
Thanks to Ian as well for his E-MAIL replies too.
Great response from the man considering I never purchased the kit from him.
I can get on with the rest of my sad life now
