Question EBC Redstuff ceramic and OEM discs

Has anybody else got the same setup?

The pads seems to be eating my disc up quick s im looking to change.
Will the EBC pads and discs be better or will it still eat the EBC discs up quickly?

I've not tried that setup but to be honest I find all pads seem to wear discs quite quickly. Two sets of pads to one set of discs was my normal average with EBC Greenstuff and EBC discs. A set of front pads every year and a set of front discs every two years just seemed to be part of my normal service costs. I don't even consider myself to be heavy on brakes either and only covered 7-8000 miles a year.

You may also find that a "performance" disc will wear faster than the standard disc. They are often produced with a softer metal to increase friction.

Yet again Ray we same to be doing the same! Fitted EBC Redstuff's on Saturday along with Godspeed discs. Obviously they've not been on long enough to see what the wear's like...

www.camskill.co.uk for EBC Redstuff Ceramics - about £94. No postage for me though as it's just down the road.

In my car the Redstuff ceramics are less noisy and dusty than every other disc/pad compo I have tried (Pagid Blue, DS2500, STI pink pads, Wilwood Polumatrix).

IMHO the red stuffs are less dusty but I don't like them. They don't give me the confidence I get from Pagid blues. They don't seem too harsh on discs mind.

I have just put exactly the same set up in- EBC red stuff + OEM discs. Have only had them for a week so can't say about the wear. How many miles have you done with them to notice this wear? Were pads and discs put in together? I had to change the original pads and discs together at 30,000mls. Am hoping/expecting the EBC to last as long.

I have OE spec discs (cheapo £30odd pounds each) and EBC Ceramic pads.

They work well for me....fast road/light track.

Better than Pagid discs (of which I cracked and warped 2 sets within a year

When the time comes for replacement I will stick with the OE+EBC setup.

Not sure about wear as I havent had a close look for a while. A freind of mine fitted the EBC along with Brembo Discs (to a Fiat Coupe) and he wore them both out in a couple of months (road use).
