Rotating Tyres

I was going to just swapp the front and rear tyres for better tyre life expectancy on my MY02. Is this the only way or can you swapp them diagonally? Bearing in mind I have rotational tyres.

Front to rear only with rotational tyres, unless you get them refitted on the wheels.
