Arron Bird was shouting about Michelin Pilot Sports b4. On the Michelin site, they rate the exalto below the Sport - http://www.michelinman.com/catalog/index_3.html

Really have no idea myself

I have Pilot Sports II in my MY03 WRX with some suspension/drivetrain mods (Suretrac, Spec C suspension etc) and although they perform really well they need enough time to achieve working temps, bear in mind our asphalt is much less gripy than yours that's probably why more time is necessary.
A local car magazine rates them second after Continental Sport contact II and before Bridgestones RE050 all tested in track conditions similar with UK asphalt (guess )

Cool

Hmmm, I may have to take a look.

When they (Costco) had a sale a few months ago, the guy at the counter said a lot of people buy them and store them in bin bags in the loft until they are required. He also said, just bring the reciept back in, and they'll fit them with no extra charge.

Even Michelin themselves don't rate them above the Sport or the Sport PS2 and the general census of opinion is that they're don't match up either.

I've seen the Pilots in 215/45/17 for around £105 fitted, if you go back can you have a look for some 225/40/18's and see what the price is for them

Doubt Costco would haggle on price, but £100 for a 17" tyre is still expensive given the HUGE markup on them. They could sell them for half the price and still make money.
