Is it worth upgrading my discs?
Hi all,
Following on from a recent thread where I enquired about the best options for upgrading my brakes (MY99 on 16 inch wheels), I've decided that given my needs (predominantly fast road use) and desired attributes (i.e. better feel, initial bite and ultimate retardation) a pad, braided lines and fluid upgrade would be most suitable. I'm thinking along the lines of Pagid 4.2.1, Goodrich (sp?) lines an dot 5.1 fluid.
The thing is- given the above requirements- is it also worth upgrading the discs to grooved items, if so, which ones? I'd be reluctant to pay too much, as if the whole package price starts to approach the £500 mark, it's really worth asking if it would not be better to bite the bullet, go for the Godspeed 308mm Brembo conversion and sell the std set up.
Best wishes,
