Best 18 inch wheel width

I'm just in the process of fitting 18's to my new age 03 Sti and have narrowed the choice down to Rota Tarmac 2's 18 x 7.5 or Speedlines Turini's 18 x 8. Whats the best width to use? (Tyres will be 225/40 T1R's)

I would say go for 8'' wide rims if using a 225 tyre.7 1/2'' rims are better suited to 215s imho

Yep I've got the 18x8 Turini's on mine with the 225/40's

Thanks for the advice. For reference though the Spec C comes equiped with 225/45 x 17 on 7.5 inch rims!!. Hence my original query. The speedlines it is then!!
