Default front disk minimum thickness before changing

Hi, just wondering if anyone outhere knows what the minimum thickness of the front brake disk is before it needs changing on a classic turbo my00. Have tried searching but have had no luck!

Cheers

I heard from the stealership that they only like to tolerate 2mm of wear on discs before they recommend changing them (although this may just be a money-spinning exercise on their part and nothing to do with a decrease in effectiveness). However, I've got about 2.5-3mm of wear on my front discs and they fade very quickly now and don't give me much confidence so I'm changing them tomorrow along with the pads!

We recommend that when they are down to below 22mm minimum thickness
then that is when they need replacing

Cheers for all the responses, will try and check them tomorrow. 2mm wear and they need changing does not sound that good. How many miles does it normally take to wear down that much?

Cheers

Got a micrometer and measured the disk thickness at the bottom. There is no other way of measuring that i no of, as there is a lip on the edge of the disk.

Ive had mine down to about 17mm! Not that I reccomend it, that was just the thickness it was when I first became aware of the matter and went looking for the info. Seemed fine too, no cracking or warping.

my disks are really bad they are more like a dish with the size of the lip and the pads dont look to have every been changed. i have constant hand brake light which im thinking is due to the low level of brake fluid it has to go down to to make the pads touch the wheel. i have some new disks an im looking for a disk instalation guide can any1 point me in the right direction? im going to have a play when the rain lets up an see if i can do it blind but a guide would be great...... sorry for reviving such an old post but i thought better do that than make a new one cheers
