I recently fitted some Speedline Turinis which came with 225/40/18 tyres. After a search I found that everyone recommends this tyre size so I was happy. After further research I realise that this size is a direct replacement for 17 inch STI wheel/tyre combo but not for my WRX 03. My original size was 215/45/17 which equates to 625mm diameter. 225/40/18 tyres have a 637mm diameter. The nearest size in 18s to my originals are 235/25/18 (622mm) or 245/35/18 (629mm). Is this correct? What size tyres do other blobeye WRX owners use on 18s?

I have 215/40/18 on my newage wrx and the speedo is pritty much spot on , next time i shall move up to 225/40/18 as you get just that bit extra kerb protection.

The UK300 came with 18inch alloys with 225/40/18 tyres.

I've got the Turini's on mine in 8x18's and while the speedo is a little over, the 225/40/18's are the best tyre for the job and it follows the principle of taking off a tyre size when you add a wheel size so my original 225/45/17's became the 225/40/18's on this car. (245's will rub on the arches - the new 05 models have slightly flaired arches to cope with the 235 size, so I'd stick with the 225's if I were you).
