Road Legal Track tyres

Not true, BUT, there is wet and there are monsoon wet conditions.
The tyres you talk of have shallow and few rain grooves, great for dry grip.
In the rain they can be awkward, but you simply drive carefully!
I drive/race on Kumho V70A's, in 17'' medium compound (road) and race, soft compound on 16'' wheels.
Very good tyre, and I find they are perfectly sound on wet motorways.
If you are worried about all this, fit the new Toyo TR1 and relax. The Kumho's will take you to a different level of grip.

Depends very much on your choice of track tyre. Some are much better in the wet than others...Ask the M£ CSL owners who have to sign a disclaimer after ticking the 'r' rated tyre box on their order form

That's my point. If you want the max dry grip, you compromise the wet and vica versa.
If you want the max in both departments join the very long que on the right, behind me.
For hill climbing competition, use Kumho moulded slicks in dry and the same in wet/damp
In pouring rain try road tyres (Toyo) or risk the Kumho's.
