can anyone give me some pointers or web addresses where i can get my hands on decent priced tyres (205 50R 16)......

cheapest quote local each is about £90 + VAT!

Can anyone recommend cheap but decent tyres?

s wales..yeah found either nankang ns2 at £41 for 205 50 16 or kumho's 712 at £45 for 205 40 16.

Would the 205 40 16 be a little bit bumpy you think? never been down to a low radial tyre before - always used the 50's.

your rolling radius will be affected by going for lower profile but same width tyres.

where in south wales, anywhere near Neath? I know someone that does tyres and could sort you out a good deal if your local to him.
