17" OZ for classic and bugeye

I currently have classic sport and thinking buying 17 oz superleggeras I know they will enhance the car but if in the future I bought a bugeye model would the wheels be ok on it as I seem to read a lot of people putting 18s on their newer imprezas. Do 17" not go well on the bugeye?
