Tyre review. Vredestein ULTRAC
My P zero Nero's have come to an end and so it was time for a change... Looked around, considered some Toyo T1-r's and then thought i'd kill two birds with one stone... try something different and save some $$$ in the process...
Got myself 4 Vredestein ULTRAC 's the other day... had them fitted and had 20 mins in the dry before the heavans opened...
Wasn't enough time in the dry to get going but, did an hour in the wet and ... they grip like the proverbial crap on blanket....very impressed... and this is from someone who really likes to push it in the wet... Mad i know but i was the same on the bike! (I digress..)
Also still a bit new and greasy so they should get even better... as for the dry same again, seem to have a fiar bit more grip then the Pirreli's and much more sidwall control, really resiting understeer, the Sti could be easily pushed on with the P Zero's it nowfeels like i've had the front srings done... Again very impressed... only slight chirps if get them right on the limit.. and the breakaway is very steady...
in the wet though you have to be right on the edge to unsttle them...
Even bigger suprise was i got 4 for £305 & that was 225/40/18 then it was £35 for fitting.. All in... 4 new sticky tryes that looks the mutts nutts too for £340...
Well pleased...

Find 215/40/R17 Yokohama Parada 87W Tyre - 2154017 on eBay within, Tyres, Car Wheels, Tyres Trims, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Nov-07 13:11:30 GMT)
Got a set of 4 for £250 delivered from the a couple of months ago, replaced my bridgestones that were on the car from when it arrived in japan. So far so good, great grip in dry and feel very comfortable, the old bridgestones used to tramline a fair bit and these have been much better. Not given them a good go in the wet yet. Bargain price, kwik fit (and all other locals) ect wanted £450 for a set of 4.
