Question Anyone tried to get STI wheels painted?

I am pondering about the idea of getting them painted silver but am not sure if it will hold. Anyone who has experience with this sort of stuff - will it last or should I save and get another pair of wheels? any comments appreciated...

Try spit and polish, they do a very good job.
They pickup from my local subaru dealer, and maybe yours as well.

Have no experience myself, but there have been a few comments made on this board about scoob wheels cracking after refurb. May just be down to the person doing the job, worth doing a search on the thread. Although i have had other wheels refurbed in the past, made me think twice about getting the scoob ones done.

I asked for the wheels to be re-coated gun metal when I ordered my Sti8. When the dealer (Days of Chelmsford) received my car from Subaru they sent the wheels away. I've had the car for a year and there's be no problems. They look much better than gold I think and with the black bodywork it makes the Scoob look real evil.

I had the "tarty" gold ones on a silver sti done anthracite on delivery-10k miles an 12 months later only one or two chips have appeared - all my fault. It was a tyres off, spray & bake on job, I think
