Default Curbed 18's

One of my new 18" alloys had a "too close" encounter with a curb & now looks distinctly 2nd hand.

Naturally i am very p*ssed off (esp as i wasn't driving - last time that will happen!)

The finish is an "ultra" laquer over and it is this laquer finish which has chipped off. The damage is about three inches long.
Can anyone suggest an inexpensive way to fix this problem.

Yesterday someone suggested i get the edge of all 4 wheels "diamond cut" to give a shiny edge to the rims. Has anyone done anything similar?

Thanks for any comments/ help.
