Morning,

I have a B4 with 4 pot AP calipers and 330 (ish) discs - standard on the back.

When braking hard from *** mph, they do the work and then seem to lose heart when you are nearly there, this has happened twice, suddenly at about 50mph they give up and it is uncomfortable.

They do make noise - almost a grinding ?? But there is no pull and no wobbling through the wheel.

There is no noticable lip on the discs, although the groves are not ultra deep. and there is still life on the pads.

I drove for about a mile yesterday slowly, without using the brakes, and they were cold to the touch - so not rubbing.

Any suggestions ? My wife does not like the lack of stopping !!

its the pads fading , what are in there ?

When was the fluid last changed? Might be worth bleeding them if its been a while.

I will have a look at the pads this weekend, the guy I bought it off, had put on cheap tyres, so he may not have been against cheap pads either.

Fluid Not sure, I will get somebody to have a look at it.
