Talking AGE OLD - WHICH PADS - QUESTION - MY03 WRX

Hello and here we go again,

My front pads are nearly gonners (dealer told me today that they would be pleased to fit Subaru pads during the service "NO THANKS").

I want pads which are not gonna kill my standard discs yet and which work pretty well from cold. Fast road and maybe track occasionally - the standard pads DIE on track.

I was thinking Ferrodo DS2500 or new EBC Red Stuff Ceramics. Don't want squealing Mintex or whatever.

Any suggestions comments from those with Blob-eye/Bug-eye WRX's, leaving standard Subaru pads in place?

One last thing - any good places doing a discount on the pads, I am an SIDC member and a SNet+ member.

Cheers in advance,

Brian.

Mintex 1155.

Cheap as chips.

Make the disks look shagged, but mine have done 17k now and are still fine

Come on everyone - give me some advice!!

Are Ferrodo DS2500's a good choice?

Do new EBC Red Stuff Ceramics wear out in only a few thousand miles under general fast road condition, not too heavy?!

What are the benefits of Goodrisge hose sets + dot 5 fluid?!

I have the DS2500 on mine, about £125 delivered from AS Performance. Very happy with them. Save some money and fit them yourself.

I'm finding the DS2500's a good choice (but apart from the standard WRX items I've never tried anything else).

They appear to have a little need to be warmed up from cold (maybe 2 miles or so), but once past that they do a better job than the standard items. I haven't found squeal or dust a problem so far.
