Bridgestone Potenza Wear on recent STI models
My mate phoned me up last week about his car, he has a 04 STI which hes had from new. Hes now done seven thousand miles in it and the front tyres are bald and have just been replaced. They were worn evenly over the tyre so he doesnt think it was a problem with the car.
I had the same tyres on my 01WRX and managed 12k before replacing all four.
Is there anyone else out there with a recent STI, if so what kind of milage are you getting?
Cheers
David

I have an MY03 STi. The fronts lasted until 12,000 miles and I still have the rear RE040's on the back with about 3-4mm left.
I like to give the car a serious thrashing once it's warmed up.
I'm averaging 18.7mpg and I've spent £1382 on petrol since 26th April this year.
I have no idea how your mate has worn out a set of fronts so quickly.

Thanks for the reply.
Rich took it into the tyre dealer and had replacements fitted, the man there said he thought it must be a problem with the compound. He also said that they were not the first he had seen like this recently. They have been sent back to Bridgestone for them to have a look.
