Is there a correct method of bedding in New Discs and Pads?

take things steady for the first 100 miles or so - no heavy / full on banshee stops just to try to get them bedded faster You'd put too much heat into the system in localised spots as there probably won't be a true parallel mating surface "ground in" at that point.

for the 1st 100 miles, do light to medium snub and normal stops to seat the pads and get them working without cooking them. snub stops are where you brake from say 50 mph down to 30mph and then let off for a minute to let them cool off a bit

once you've got some miles under their belts then you could try some harder stops but watch for the fade and recovery properties if it's a new material to you - they might handle differently at higher temps that previous stuff

you need to 'bed' according specifically to the materials/ manufacturers you have used.....................there is not really a "catch all" procedure!!
also totally different race type materials to road stuff..................
