I recently brought Toyos from leigh tyres on Ebay brand new and a bargain price of £280.00 for 4. If you do a search you will find F1s are the favourite and Toyos come second but F1s are more expensive.

T-1000 has pretty much summed it up. I've used several sets of Toyos - always found them good tyres. Then I tried F1s - wow Cracking tyres - the wet grip is amazing. If you can push your budget, go for the F1s. If not £280 for 4 tyres is very good and the Toyos aren't exactly bad either.

Cheers guys.

I'm gonna go for these wheels as the general opinion is the same as me, looks cool!

Toyos are second best, am pushing for Eagle F1's but if he doesn't do them I'll get the Toyos, as he is balancing, fitting them and providing bolts and locks FOC.

Cheers guys.

I had the old F1 and they were really unpredictable when it started to rain, real slippery. Good Years new F1 are much better.

It´s all about how You use the car. If You not going to track events and only use it as a regular today car. Go with the cheapest.

Well I think the opposite to you mate - put crap on for track as it just get shredded, and keep the best, highest wet/dry grip for the road. There is NO WAY I'm keeping my lovely brand new F1's on for the track on Weds!!!! They'll get ruined! Ha det bra!

Now it was between the Toyo and F1 :-) He wont die cornering a normal road with Toyo ;-)

When using a car on a track. Good tires and brakes are essentials.

I've got 4 on order of the new T1-R's (18in fitment for 01wrx)
Called Toyo UK yesterday and the guy there was mentioning that TSL use them and one of the guys from there had called Toyo to say how impressed he was with em.After reading bits and bobs on here plus on other websites I've decided to go for a set even though I didn't rate the T1-S 'quite' as much as Goodyear F1's.There's supposed to be a vast improvement over the T1-S from what I've read though so fingers crossed!!

18000 miles? I suspected the F1s were a softer compound which is what gave them their grip which in turn would make them wear out faster.

The most I've ever got from the Bridgestones are 14k

Are there several types of Goodyear Eagle F1 or is there just one type?
Don't want to get the wrong ones...
Cheers,
Ricky.

Yes there is,

The Euro made and the Asian made. The Asian made is not a good choice. Before bying the F1 check with Your dealer that the tires are made in Europe.

It has a sign on the tire what country the tire is made in.

Many internet dealers that has very good prices on tires use the tires from the Asia market due to the price.

Smile F1's mileage Vs Toyo's mileage

Cheers!
So do Toyos last significantly longer than F1's?
If F1's give better grip but last a lot less then that has to be considered.

If theres not a lot in it then F1's.

Does anyone know? I'm sure they do

Default Go for F1s

Never had Toyos on, but compared to the standard Bridgestone ****e they fit on WRX's and STI's, it felt like a new car with F1s.

Put 7500 miles on my F1s before I sold MY01 WRX, before getting my new ST8, and they were stil in very good condition.

I'm no lunatic when it comes to everyday driving but, I often I accelerate hard and love a sprint through the twisties at least once or twice a week.

I've now got the RE040s supplied with my STI8 on the standard 17" rims and they are ****e, it feels worse than my old WRX, but I do have lots more BHP and torque.

Solution - getting 18" Prodrives or OZs and F1s as soon as I can!
