I have 8x18" on my Type R with 215/35/18 toyo's, i get slight rubbing cos of width and the fact that they have a 45mm offset.
If you get 7 or 7.5 wide you will be fine with 48-53mm offset.

I'm on 18" Oz Super Legs with 225/35/18's Yoko Avs's with around approx 40mm drop & had to roll the arches due to rubbing.
You'll be fine with 215's tho.

Running 225/35/18 Goodyear F1's with Eibach Pro-Kit springs and not had any rubbing on my RB5. Running the P-WRC1 alloys with a ET53 offset.
Just watch the width of the tyre if you go for 215's as they will be too stretched on 8" wide rims. Stick with 7.5" or less and you'll be fine.

Stefan, I was thinking of going for F1's again (used to run them when on 16s), cos I think they're better than the Toyos (NOT wanting to start a fight )
How do the 225/35s compare to the 215/35s ?
I'm running 7.5"s and even then the 215s seem a bit stretched - they'd be horrendous on 8s...

Went from 215/40/17's straight to 225/35/18's. As the girls would say, it's all about the width Can't say how they feel compared to a 215/35 tyre. That's a low profile and they'll look like rubber bands and give sod-all protection to the rim. I didn't want a really skinny profileas I think the ride quality would suffer.
Performance compared to my old Toyo's are fantastic (don't worry I hated them too, but only in the wet). Did take a good few weeks to bed my new tyres in, but now they're giving out fantastic grip.
Ride quality is just as good as my 17's with low road noise now too. It's a no-brainer for me between Toyo's and Goodyear.
Another plus point is they have a nice large rim protector on them

It's a package
- Offset's got to be right (typically 48-53mm)
- Width has to be right (7-7.5 inches is usual 8.0 inches is debatable)
- tyres have to be right (225/35s or 215/35s work fine)
I'm running P1WRC wheels (7.5 inch width) in 18s on Goodyear GSD3s 225/35s.

I just put Super Leg's 215/335/18's on my scoob about 30 mins ago, I went to the first road I could think of with speed bumps, no rubbing at all and they look sweet.
Badly needs lowering now tho, it feels like Big Foot when I'm sat in it now.
When I see traffic I dont know whether to que up behind them or drive over the top of them all!
Gonna drop into Suspension Forum and ask for good place to buy Eibachs at good price! But all in all 215/35/18's seem perfect.

Matey - think you'll find its your imagination then.. The 215/35s are actually slightly smaller in overall diameter than the original 16s....

(Not that springs wouldn;t be nice - Which is why I've got them )

It is quite possible. my mind has played many trix on me in the past.
It is the front wheels really that look bad, but i am sorting it...
I have ordered some springs today anyhow, just need to find somewhere in rotherham or sheffield to fit them when they arrive now.
