what would you recommend as best combo of springs, wheels and tyres if I value refinement in noise and ride + progressive breakaway

Anyone tried 17" profile (45?) on 18" rims - I appreciate RR increases but not sure if this would upset handling, diffs, ABS, foul arches etc

Clearly larger diameter without lowering sidewall depth should provide both better comfort, increased grip, better looks - hopefully without increasing instability too much??
