Noise coming from front discs?
Ok guys i hope you can help.
Ive got a noise coming from the front wheels/discs (unsure which side of wheel or if both) and the sound is a high pitched on/off intermittent sound which comes and goes within about a second between them.
It mainly hapens when i have been driving for a while (discs warming up maybe?).
I also think the high pitched intermittent noise speeds up with the speed i am driving at.
Also ive noticed that it only makes this sound when i am driving and only when i turn my steering wheel to the left slightly, but if i turn/steer slightly back the other way to the right it goes away.
It's not a mega loud sound but noticeable enough for me when driving.
Not sure what is causing it but at a guess, i would say it is down to the brake pads catching on the disc or something to do with the disc itself.
I also get a lot of brake dust on my wheels but that could well be normal for the STi..?
My car is a MY01 Impreza WRX Sti [import] ( bugeye with bremo discs and pads).
I hope ive provided enough info for people on here to diagnose the problem.
So what do you think guys could be wrong and what could of caused it?
Cheers for any help as im at a loss what the problem could be so any ideas are truly appreciated here.
Look forward to some answers soon hopefully...

how many miles has the car done and O.E. pads or not??
could simply be a build up of brake dust causing the issue, easy fix to remove pads and clean out caliper..............have you recently had the pads changed? could be the "anti-squeal" shim is is the wrong way round.....................
couple of ideas, but a bit more info should help................

Thanks stockcar.
Car has done about 14,000 miles or so and i think they are OEM pads but they may of had new ones fitted prior to me getting the car as i noticed an instruction piece of paper all in japanese that shows brake pads etc.
So yes they may of well been changed.
How can i check the "anti-squel" shim visually to see if its the right way? Any pictures showing right and wrong way around anyone?
