New pads, any recomendations
Its time for a new set of front pads on my slugeye.
Fast road pads are probably the order of the day.
Anyone have any suggestions on what to buy or probably more importantly what not to buy?
Cheers

Pagid RS 4.2.1 with Goodridge hoses transform the brakes, but they do squeel a bit when applying very light pressure.
TBH not tried Ferodo DS2500 but happy with the Pagids, made a big difference from standard pads on my STI7. I believe most Porsches have Pagid pads as standard and they do stop well.

Another nod for Pagid RS4.2.1 - great pads and make a huge difference even with oem disks.
As above, Ferodo DS2500's are well thought of, as are Mintex 1144 and 1155's. Not tried either, though.
What not to buy? Steer WELL CLEAR of EBC Greenstuff's up front. Had some fitted during a recent service as a sort of emergency - disks were well below tolerances and the Pagids were also near the end of their life, so new disks (Tarox G88) and pads (Greenstuff) were fitted. Was told that the greenstuffs were better than the Pagids I had on at the time. This is bollox - they stop working effectively after a very, very short time (during spirited driving) which is the last thing you want.
Will be going back to Pagids as soon as the greenstuffs die. Might try the Mintex or the Ferodo options, though.
Here's a good place to start - Speak to Allun at www.asperformance.com/brakes.htm. He has some pads for sale in scoobyshop at the moment.

Cheers guys,
Scott had my geometry set on Sat, thats when I found out my pads were ready for the scrapheap. Need a word regarding the prodrive settings, are you 100% they are correct?

Running Pagids on my STi3 after speaking to Allun, great impovement over standard (presuming that's what was on before), also had alignment and bumpsteer last year at Powerstation, improved things, but like everything you get used to it and still want more/better!!!!
Had greenstuff on my 205GTi, cr@p, didn't like them at all, never seemed to have the bite, again after speaking to Allun now running DS2500, awsome!

Guys what is the deal with the 'dont use on the road' note with many of these pads? Any insurance implication?
Also is the Pagid RS4.2.1 the 'Pagid Black'. If so they are awsome, but I HATED the above disclaimer that came with them...

don't worry about it................its a "get out of jail free" card for the manufacturers to get out of "reg.90"!!
the issue here is that pads must be =/- 15% of the O.E. spec and obviously any peformance pad is well beyond this stipulation!!
