Angry Squeaky Pagid RS421

I have recently replaced my 03WRX OEM barke pads with Pagid RS421s and the latter are proving to be quite annoying in town driving. They squeal under gentle braking quite often (they already have 500 miles so should have bedded in). Is that normal or do I have something wrong with my car (cracked disc etc...)?

Did you wipe the discs to remove residue from the old pads before fitting the Pagids? Mine squeal but only in reverse.

Have the same pads on STI7, done about 10000 miles on them and started squeeling after about 500 miles, obviously it gets worse unless you clean them.
It's just a characteristic of this particular pad but they do provide a big increase in braking performance, especially with Goodridge lines fitted, so have lived with the squeeling which only happens when you are brushing the brakes in traffic at low speed anyway.
Read a post somewhere on here about chamfering the leading edge of the pad, cleaning the calipers and pads, apply copper grease to backing plates on the pads and squeeling disappears but I suspect it will be back again at some point.
No easy fix to stop them squeeling but I have decided to live with it due to better braking performance, considering AP brakes anyway.

Had them on my 98 fitted with Brembos. They always squealed, both sets. And when going from forward to reverse or vice versa they would clonk on first application in that direction. Assumed they had a bit of space around them or something. They worked very well though!

Thumbs up

I'm squeal free! No squeals on MY 00 UK Turbo before and none on my MY 99 STI V on AP four pots, and worked awesomely on the way home from North wales on the A483 last night!
