I think (after 50k miles and 3 track days) my rear pads are shot. I've looked through the archives in this forum and several people have gone for cheap pads on the rear (I think Stef has Ferodos -- AFAIK these are the ones available from Halfords). However, I might have left it a bit late and scored the discs. Are Unipart-type ones OK, or do I have to give Mike Tuckshop some more cash for a set of whizzy rear discs (I reckon if the rear only does 20% of the braking, the parts should be only 20% of the overall price )?

No-one else worn out the rears? I think I may get some cheap pads and discs and see how it goes -- if they're crap I'll throw them away.

Just checked mine this evening prior to 30K service - 28k miles - still got 4-5 mm left.

How thick were they in the first place ?
