I have a UK MY94 and am looking at fitting wheels as above.
What offset do they need to be and what size tyres would you recommend?

It depends on what struts you're using, with stock ones I assume you could get away with ~52 mm's...with the Leda's you're pushing it awfully close at 50 mm's.
I'm running 18x8 ET50 Compomotive TH-2s, and Proxes in 215/35, and my rear arches needed to be rolled.
Remember to sort the suspension if you haven't already, the unsprung weight increases quite a bit...

Thanks J.
You are running the very same wheels I was thinking of!
I'm currently running STi V struts with eibach springs but looking to change to the AVO kit soon.

Just out of interest I have the PD prof kit suspension (all silver shocks and springs) and I have just fit 225-35-18 (7.5J) no rub at all.
I was expecting the oppersite!
