Replacement 16" tyres
#1
I'm having trouble getting quotes for decent rubber in the same size as the OE Bridgestones (which I wasn't too impressed with anyway) Can anyone tell me if 205/50 16's will fit a MY00 UK Turbo?

I've recently swapped to Michelin Pilots and am quite impressed. Previously had Pirelli P6000s, not so impressed. Both on the standard 16 inch wheels.
Hope this helps,
Simon.

I've got toyo proxy T1-s's on mine, they stick like glue, wet or dry, you WILL be impressed. I've heard they do wear more than others though, maybe 80-90% of lifespan of harder compounds.
Worth it in my opinion, especially because they're less than 80-90% the price ! (£90 odd)
cheers

DOH!! I noticed when I got to the tyre depot. I'd read a few other threads which metioned 205/50 16's and decided to try them anyway. Think I was confusing them with the 195/50 15's on my previous car - I feel stupid now! :-) Got the F1's for £84 inc VAT so they weren't tooo steep. Grip seems decent so far (unlike the wheel balance I'd have to say, may get them redone by someone who actually knows what they're doing!!)

I would be interested in your experience with the new tyres as I am up for a new set in a month and was considering F1s, I'm on S02s at the minute.
Thanks

I recently replaced the original tyres with SO3's (16") and I'm extremely impressed. Dry grip is better and wet grip is transformed. I was concerned after some of the earlier correspondence regarding sidewall flex, but haven't had a problem. Added bonus's are less tyre noise and better ride.
