Question

OK, I appreciate I could get shot down here, but I thought I'd ask!

As an awful lot of rally cars and race schools use these tyres, I was just thinking they could make a cheaper trackday tyre?

Example prices: 205/50/16 at £46 and 215/45/17 at £48, both V-rated, both include VAT.

Anyone with comments and/or experience of why this is or isn't a good idea?

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I use Colway intermediates on my Golf and Pug for tarmac rallying and find them a good budget competition tyre. There best point is wear rate, they just keep going and going! They give better grip than any road tyre I've used and are versatile for all weather conditions.
I can't comment on them being used on the Scoob as this is a different ball game - 4WD, big power etc. I have seen some tarmac rally cars with them on though so I guess thay would be up to the job.

If I had the choice of Colways or road tyres, I'd take the Colways every time.

Andy
