Hi Mike, sorry to bother you but what would be the best way in obtaining new Prodrive centre caps for my PD7's?
I bought these from Days of Chelmsford (Subaru dealer in Chelmsford) only 6 weeks ago, using soap and water only to clean them in fear of stripping lacquer, but to my dismay the plastic caps with the Prodrive logos are hanging off the complete centre snap in cap!

What is the best coarse of action as these look pretty fugly and other than that, these wheels are ace.

Cheers, Jacko (djacks11@ford.com)

Jacko,

A similar thing happened to my car, but it was the S U B A R U lettering that simply washed off. They had just been replaced after getting my boot resprayed due to a rust spot.

Just go through your dealer. They should order you some new centre caps. I've not seen the PD7's in the flesh, but my Speedlines have the Prodrive centre caps also. Are they black, with silver
lettering?

like this

Is the whole cap coming loose?

Stefan

I had the same thing happen to mine. Picked up some new ones from my dealer. Couple of quid each.

Richie.

Jacko

The badge is actually stuck into the centre cap using a self adhesive pad. If this wasn't properly attatched by the dealer they do sometimes start to come off. You could try removing them and trying again or get your dealer to order some more if they are now unuseable.

Cheers for the reply Mike and others. Not to impressed really. Used a credit card to ease the part that wasn't hanging off and on closer inspection, it was only being held on by a small area. To save hassle, I was thinking of using NO MORE NAILS to fix it back on.
I think this should suffice but not to impressed seeing as they are only a few weeks old.

Cheers for all the reply's and recommendations, Mike and you guys are always so helpfull. Jacko.

Hey Jacko

Yep my PD7 centre caps have all started to peel off aswell. L

They have stupid, silly ‘sponge’ double sided adhesive which just loves to soak up your soapy water, then fall off!!

I thought of going back to my dealer but decided that would be to much trouble so I removed the Prodrive label and re-stuck them with Epoxy resin.

And so far no worries.!!.

Mind you if that fails then I’ll go back to my dealer and demand some free new ones.

Guys, your dealer should get you some FOC if they're peeling off.

Stop moaning, what did you expect from cheapo wheels

Wonder what they used for the Speedlines. I don't think even a jackhammer would get mine off

Ah Ha, never thought of that

That'll teach me for being a cheeky b@stard eh. I'll get my coat

Glad to hear it looks like you've sorted it, though you'd have thought they would have used better adhesive given the cost.

Ozzy dude, PD7's are also made by Speedline
Still doesn't excuse poor adhesion...NO NAILS has worked so far so good. I'll try it on high speed rinse

Cheers, Jacko.
