Dear chaps, I can't be arsed to go look at books and stuff, nor phone me mates and bore them so i thought i'd bbs the question and see what occours.
I'm gonna change me standard uk MY00 wheels for 17" jobs. Nothing special there i know but on my quest for the right wheels I have noticed that you can get 7.0 x 17" all the way up to 10.0 x 17". I presume that the first number refers to width of rim?
I have got standard brakes at the moment, with no intention of upgrading in the near future.
Should I be looking at 7 x 17" or 7.5 x 17"?
is one size easier to get tyres for?
I know i should know all this by now but i have been busy learning about exhausts etc cos they were more pressing mods, now its time for wheels
Thanks in anticipation
MIKEY

The first was correct 7" wide rim
The second was correct 17" diameter rim
These will look the part on your car.
Tyres you have are 215/40 ZR 17
215 mm wide,40% aspect ratio ZR the speed rating and 17" diameter!!!!
I have these on my car without any problems at all.
Bridgestone SO2 or Toyo Proxies the best
Cheers
