2 Discs and 4 Pads for £98 - ?
Been quoted £98 all in for UNIPART Pads and Discs for my MY00 Turbo - anyone any experience of UNIPART? I have used them in the past ...... about 15 years ago, but on Sierras. They were fine then - what about now?

Errrm, yes I do have the 294mm then!?
Why was the largest option offered at the motor factors 260mm then?
This is cheesing me right off .... all I want is the CORRECT brake pads and discs at a sensible price ( £100 is about right for me with my ability to eek them out to 50,000miles a set )
Or, I could just go and get my friendly main dealer to fit them and give me a good seeing to at the same time! (£250 they wanted for fitting Pads ONLY!!)

Wow!
I'm sure that £160 is a very good price for what you have ...... its just a touch too close to OEM Subaru Parts prices (and I am trying to steer away from paying THEM money like that!)
Cheers

I don't like to admit this but here goes......
I was going to Wales last September to take in the EVO triangle with the Northern fellas and I needed new brakes. In a rush the day before I bought cheap discs and pads. Both were APEC products and cost £90 all in. They KIND of worked, in that they did eventually slow the car down (which was 320bhp then) but I would say its a fool who skimps on brakes. I'll never do it again. The extra £70 would be WELL WORTH IT IN THE END.
Of course, if you drive very conservatively then don't worry about it. Chances are the Unipart stuff, APEC stuff and maybe even OE parts are the same.

I doubt very much that Unipart or APEC are as good as OE - if so, I will get another 50,000miles out of the set ...... that will mean at 100,000miles I will be needing my 3rd set of front pads (and thats fine by me!)
Just wondering if Unipart were bad - would seem not
