Question Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres

Serious question,
What is the difference between GSD2's and GSD3's?
I picked up 4 GSD2's for £55+vat each. Is that a good price?

A friend of mine had GSD2's on his motor but didn't like them. He took them off and put Michelin Pilot Sports on and preferred them. Most people seem to prefer the GSD3's over Pilot Sports. So the conclusion here is; GSD3 is a much superior tyre to GSD2. It'll rival an SO2 was one quote I saw (and they're legendary). I have Pilot Sports on my Scoob and they're great in the dry (not so good in the wet)

Have you tried both?

I loved the GSD2's I had on my car. They were superceeded by the new GSD3's, but I've no idea if the compound and/or tread pattern was changed. I haven't tried the new Goodyear, so can't really comment on whether they are that much of an improvement.

I paid about £49+VAT for mine about 2yrs ago and that wasn't much more than trade. If I could get GSD2's for £55+VAT each I'd bite your hand off.

If it wasn't a one-off special I'd be interested in where you got them.

Stefan,
the price was very much a one off special. But it sounds like I got a bargain...

Very good price, I guess as theyre superceeded by the GSD3 it helped. A decent price for one GSD3 is £90, so you did well there.

That's a good price if you have wheels larger than 15's. GSD3's are the replacement for GSD2's. The pattern has changed on the outer edges and apparently the compound is softer.

Sorry, should have said that they were for my MY02, so yes- bigger than 15's. Feeling much happier with the price and quality. Thanks for the comments.
