Tyres Running In Period
#1
Having just fitted 17" OZ Superleggaras and Bridgestone SO2 PPs, how long do the tyres need to bed in before returning to normal to hard driving, if at all?
Also, having changed from 16 to 17" rims, do I need a full geometry set up performed?
Cheers,
James.

Having recently fitted 17" S02's, I did see one post that recommended 1000 miles to bed them in
A day to scuff the mould release agents off will suffice!
The 17" will make absolutely no difference whatsoever to camber/caster/toe - if it was out before, it will still be out......if it wasn't, it won't be

I changed to S02's about 3 months ago and found they didn't settle until i'd done around 500+ miles. Four wheel slides into and out of roundabouts were the norm at speeds the previous Yoko A520's wouldn't. Now though, they are like night and day compared to the Yoko's
I have Leda suspension with sorted geometry if your thinking there could be something wrong there.
Of course, if you drive steady then you won't notice this.
Steve.

I've found much the same as Dave in that they only take a few miles to get up to full grip levels.
However like Steve I find they take many more miles to become fully stable when pressing on .
I don't understand how more people don't notice this because the car feels scary at first and I have to be really carefull on left/right combinations etc.
