I currently have a wrx sti version iv type-r coupe, monster exhaust, monster filter, 16" jap silver speedlines, and it has always been loud in side, but recently it has got much louder, especially in the back, and it makes like a droaning sound (?), one of my mates think it might be my bearings but it is not that old - any suggestions? tire pressure is 32 back and front.

Before doing anything dramatic check that you have a good seal between the centre and back section as this can cause this type of noise even with a slight leak

I seem to remeber you should not have the diff wound to either of the end settings (1 or 5) for any period of time because it can cause damage. One of the experts on here should be able to expand on this....

I was hoping an expert on these matters would have arrived by now.....in the absence of that, will your local Subaru dealer touch the car?? - if so, i'd go and talk to them.....
