Hi folks.

I had four new tyres fitted on Saturday by a local dealer, but was in a hurry so didn't check the job they'd done. When I was washing it yesterday I noticed that there are huge marks around the rims (I've got the 16" gold speedlines), and in some places the gold has been knocked off completely revealing the silver wheel underneath.

Unfortunately, I can't prove it was the dealer that did the damage as I drove away with no complaints, but I don't think I'll be using them again (you'd have thought an official dealer would know better wouldn't you)...

Therefore, does anyone somewhere in the vicinity of Swindon (Wiltshire) that repairs damage such as this, and vaguely how much it's going to cost me?

Thanks,
Iain

Iain

This had happened to my 16" speedlines on delivery! Never mind re-finishing them - kick up a stink. It also happened at Kwik-Fit on my previous car with 2 of the alloys. I went back the following day and made my point. Result was Kwik-Fit apologised and paid to have them re-finished.

Good luck

Wink

I had a similar experience - couldn't prove it was the tyre fitter although it was pretty obvious

My 'fix' was to go to a local autofactors and have an aerosol of paint mixed up. The colour is Subaru Saffron Yellow (Gold) - I can't remember the code.

Cool

Good news. After informing them of their mistake, the Subaru dealer has agreed to get the damage repaired professionally. They're even giving me another car while the work is being done, and not charging me a penny.

Sometimes it pays to complain

Have a good Xmas everyone....

Cheers,
Iain
