This could cause problems with the hand brake , as the rear disc looks to have a drum in the middle for the hand brake . I could be wrong , but have never seen a big disc rear conversion .

As I'll soon be replacing my front brakes for a Prodrive Kit, I am curious as to know if I can swap my rear brakes with the standard front ones.
Does this sound stupid, or is it at all possible?

IMHO (that has got to be the greatest get out of all time)
about 70/80% of the breaking is done by the front brakes - thats one of the reasons the front wheels get more brake dust on 'em.
To put bigger disks on the back - certainly your old ones are MUCH bigger, will greatly alter this balance.
this will upset the balance of the car under breaking and could put you and other roads users in danger.
Yes i know by uprating the fronts this will alter the balance but as you break you transfer a lot of the weight of the car onto the front wheels/tyres which is why they are bigger on the front. This is the norm.
May i suggest checking with an expert.
I am sure someone else can give a more technical angle to it although i belive i am right.
