Ok, I've been looking through the archives and can't find anything on this, well, at least that was obvious ;-)
Having speant a lovely day recently at Donington cooking my brakes I have been looking for improvements...I've already gone as far as I can realisitically at the front (under 16" rims at least) but think that I need to improve the rears...
I'm not looking for a vast increase in braking power, just to try and prevent warping of the disks and overheating the pads an fluid as much as possible.
Now is it a straight swap on a UK 98 car to fit the MY99 type vented rear disks? Or do I have to fit new calipers or carry out even more mods?
Simple really I hope...

I still have my original rear discs on my MY98 car and they've covered 70,000 miles and countless track days without any problems at all.
If I made any changes to the rear it would probably only be for cosmetic purposes more than anything else.
Stef.

Stef, I am amazed
I'm definately having problems with my rears, the pads (Mintex 1155) got so hot that the paint on the pad backplate started to blister, and the disks have taken on a nice blue tint
So I think additional cooling will be in order...
Weren't you thinking of fitting Sti 2 pots on the rear, untill it was pointed out that the hub arrangement was different

Tim I have Prodrive Pads on the rears of my MY98 and have no problems at all. Maybe you could try these. I don't know how often Stef has changed his rears but I last changed mine on 18000 [32k now].
