Black Diamond or Group N Discs ?
#1
After 18,000 I find I need a new set of front discs.
Scoobysport recommend thier group N discs but are out of stock this week.
Have been offered Black Diamond discs from Falkland.
Before I buy anyone have any comments on either.
Fitting to U.K MY00
Thanks
Grant

Fitted grooved Black Diamond to my Turbo about a week before an idiot in an Escort rammed it from behind. Didn't get a chance to bed them in properly, but first impressions were good with Mintex M115 pads. The only downside was that they seemed very noisy on braking, but that may well have disappeared as they bedded in.
I'd used Black Diamond grooved disks on my Golf GTI in the past and was very impressed with their performance.

I'm doing the same thing at the moment. I'm thinking of upgrading my disc's and pads and was wondering about which ones to use togeather. So far I've been pointed in the direction of Mintex 1155 pads and grooved disc's either Tardox or Black Diamond. Does anyone else have any other advice?

I`ve had both tarox and black diamond discs and the black diamonds are much better . I currently have black diamonds on my STI and they are much improved over standard when combined with ebc green pads . I`ve given the discs some severe thrashings and they have held up very well ,shame about the pads, they wore out very quickly (about 2000 miles for a set of pads) .
They are a good option if you can`t justify the mega bucks for AP`s or Brembo`s (which are the same company now)

Grant,
I have Black Diamonds on the front of my STi II, with Pagid FR pads. These seem to be very good on the road, its a shame the brake fluid boiled whilst approaching the hairpin at Silverstone
I would recommend these. David Hendry supply and fit at a reasonable price (www.dhcars.co.uk)

Thanks for the replys, have decided on Black Diamond drilled and grooved.
Have found them for 165 + vat which seems quite reasonable.
Tim I have already fitted the Mintex pads, great with little fade.Have also fitted braided front brake pipes and 5.1 dot brake fluid.
Off tommorow to Powerstation for the bump steer adjustments so by next week the car should stop and steer with a new vengance.
