Does anyone know of a good place to get cheap tyres in the London area?

I am after a set of 4 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres at 235/40 (17" wheel) and the best I have been offered is about £600.

Has anyone seen any better prices around?

Dont know about Michelin, but can get a set of S02's for £400 with valves and fitting/balancing. Mail me offline if interested.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the offer Danny, but I'll probably stick with the Pilot Sport.

Cheers

AWD,

You know you should ask me bout these things - you've paid £600 for your Michelin, instead of £400 for S02's? You muppet

Hope that makes sense. It's humid and late. My excuse.

If you want cheap tyres get some Falken's 205/50/17 or 215/45/17 for about £65 each from Micheldever Tyres, Nr Winchester have them sent mail order and have them fitted locally thats what I do when I want some.

Trig: I know where you live

I got the Sports on Saturday and paid a total of £545. I will get a 40 quid rebate so it will come to just over £500.

The Sports (235/40) are a harder compound that the SO2s and will last longer. I have seen 2 lots of reviews of tyres and in one the SO2s did better and in the other the Sports did better.

Well I've got them now so I'll have to live with them. They definitely feel better than the MXX3s I had before (but then they were designed to replace them).

Next time

Try Chalk Farm Tyres in Chalk Farm Road Camden.

Ask for Ellis and say that I sent you.

Will match or beat mostly any price.
