Which Size?

I don't get this wheel/tyre size thing...
I'm going to change wheels when this set of tyres need changing. Do I want 17" or 18"?
Will I need geometry changes, brake changes?
BTW I've got an MY99 completely standard at the minute.

Hi...
17's are more popular than 18s on Scoobs, although some 18's may fit without need for major bodywork mods. However, due to the varying states of our roads, if you're wanting to increase wheel size, 17's is your best option. Plenty of options on style available too.
While you don't specifically have to, it is worth getting your geometry at least checked (by a competent company) if nothing else. I have the Powerstation anti-bump-steer suspension setup (and they sort the geometry too)... I'd definitely recommend it.
As for brakes, you won't need to change them either, but moving up to a bigger size of wheel will give you more options if you wish to go for a big brake conversion at any time.

Go for 18's if you buy rims . Its all about the pose factor IMHO. The new P1 rim looks very nice in 18...if a jobs worth doing......
If you do change, make sure you do get the geomtery done by a specialist ala Elite, Micheldever etc??
