Rear Brakes
#1
What sort of wear has anyone had on rear pads (standard calipers) as opposed to front? Half the wear? Third? I never seem to get any brake dust on the rear wheels, and can’t see the pad behind the caliper to see how much of the pad is left.
Thanks

Thats a good question. I somtimes wonder if my rear brakes do anything. Does anyone know what the bias is? I must say that I think the brakes on my MY99 are very poor. My old ST24 felt like it had much better brakes and with only 22.000 miles my front disc are covered in large cracks

Gary,
Mine appear to be wearing about half as fast as the fronts. Remember that the rear pads are smaller and don't do as much work so you won't get as much brake dust as you do with the fronts.
If you really want to know stop being lazy and take a back wheel off and check
Mr Leigh,
If you have cracks in your disks get them replaced under waranty as this is a known problem with MY99 front disks. I've just had mine replaced at 19K.
