Mintex 1155 competitors?

I didn't think 1155's lasted too well on track?
I was at Abingdon last week and a Scoob there destroyed a set even though the circuit isn't that hard on brakes!
EBC Yellow Stuff worked quite well for me, and only cost £75.

Cheers Stef - But arn't Yellow stuff 'NOT FOR ROAD USE'? I need a pad that will do majority road with the odd track day? Red Stuff are the legal for road use version, but have been told 1155s are longer lasting, and give similar stopping power.

I've done two track events and 6,000 road miles in my car which is fitted with 1155s. Still plenty of pad material left!
Mind you, they do fade after 6 laps, so I do a cool down lap, and then pit for 5 - 10 minutes before going out again. No point in pressing on with fading brakes, as you'll end up destroying them.

Yellow Stuff are designated race pads, but in my experience they actually perform better on road than the Red Stuff. The Reds only lasted 30 laps of Donno which is what EBC actually expect!
The Yellows lasted much longer, with far greater stopping power, and better on-road too.
I've still got my PFC Carbon Metallic pads in, which are also great on the road.
Bear in mind that my opinion is based on these pads in my AP brakes, so may differ from different set-ups anyway.
The other alternative is to put the race pads in just before the track day and change back afterwards, although you'll have to ensure you clean the discs properly each time.
Personally, I would stick a set of race pads in (which you're buying anyway) and see how you like them on the road. If they work well from cold, what's the problem?
