AP or Torox Discs For MY00 Turbo?
#1
I am considering upgrading the front brakes on my car and have read varying reports on the bbs which recommend the Bremsport/1155 route as being an economic way of achieving better braking performance without spending £1200 - £1500.
Has anyone bought the AP replacement grooved discs from Scoobymania and the Mintex 1155 pads as this combo is less expensive than the Bremsport/1155 option.
If anyone knows of a better combination that will fit an MYOO I would welcome any suggestions.
I am looking for value for money, not necessarily the cheepest option.

Just had Brembo group N discs with Pagid pads fitted at Scoobysport . Without checking the receipt i think it cost me £250 ish. Havent stood on the brakes yet but are without doubt much improved over standard. Graham 95 WRX.

After waiting for two weeks and then getting the wrong pads from Scooby Mania, I cancelled my order with them.
I am thinking about going for the 4 pot AP kit but its a lot of money to fork out. I will probably go for the Ferrodo GS 2000 pads in the short term (Prodrive Pads) with the original discs and try to persuade Stef who has the AP kit to take me around Donnington or Cadwell so I can see what I'm missing.
Most 'experts' have advised me that replacement discs and pads will only enable me to stay out on track for an extra couple of laps. At Donnington a couple of weeks ago I could only do about 5 laps before the brakes were overheating using the standard pads and discs, Stef can stay out untill he needs more fuel!
If you don't do track days and just want to improve the standard brakes talk to Pete at Scooby Sport about the Brembo grooved discs and Ferrodo DS 2000 pads.
Hope this helps

John,
From IWOC Mark got DS2000 for £38 + VAT for AP callipers, I just rang them and they said they don't have them for MY00 Scoobs.
How much did Scoobysport offer the DS2000s for?
Cheers,
Greg
