A mate of mine has just been offered a set of new standard Subaru 16" gold alloys with Bridgestone Potenza's for £425+VAT. As an alternative, the dealer said he would supply the alloys and fit my mate's existing (but worn) SO2s for £300+VAT.
Do you reckon this is good or bad? I think a lot of the dealers have the gold alloys in stock as I believe this is what the P1s are delivered on.
Any comments welcome
Cheers

Most dealers are charging around the £400+VAT for the wheels, so £425 isn't that bad if it includes fitting etc.
£300+VAT for just the wheels isn't that good a deal, as it values 4 tyres (RRP of over £100 each) at about £30 each.
My advice would be to take the wheels, and keep them until the S02 are worn out, fit the new wheels and tyres then, and either sell the existing wheels on this BBS, or keep them for track use or winter tyres.

i paid £400 incl vat for my 16" gold alloys.
fitted for free cos i was buying my MY00 scoob at the same time.
i've heard other people paying £400 incl vat for a set. not sure about fitting with this deal though ?

Steve,
What did you manage to get for your own wheels when you had the gold ones fitted for free? I assume you took them away and sold them, or maybe kept them for trackday use.
Unless you paid £400 PLUS your standard wheels for some gold wheels... which would have been a pretty bad deal, especially considering the dealer(?) would then sell your wheels to someone else...

Hi Moray
Sold the brand new 16" wheels and unused rubber to a customer of the dealer who wanted to upgrade his 15" wheels.
How much did i get for em ?
£400 free set of gold alloys for me
bargain i thought.
i was quite happy with that, even though in some ways and from all the wheel postings recently it was to cheap.....the guy had been quoted £88 per tyre for just the rubber on his 15" wheel !!!
still no hassle for me having to take them away, store them, advertise and then sell them !!!!
