I've just finished painting mine with black Smoothrite which is a lot cheaper than the Foliatec stuff and you can take your time as well without worrying about the paint going off after adding the hardener or whatever it is. Finish looks good and previous experience leads me to believe that it will last too, the only slight worry being that Smoothrite is fairly easily chipped but any chips will be easily touched up.

I know this might sound a bit sad but .....

The brake calipers are starting to rust on my 99 Sport after only 10k, they are starting to look a tad naff to say the least. Is anyone out there in Subaru land going to admit to having painted their calipers ? If so can anyone give me any pointers on type of paint and preperation. The big question is what's the "in" colour ?

Thanx
K

Foliatec Calliper Paint works extremely well, it is a 2 pack paint (You have to do all 4 calipers within 4 hours). It comes with a can of brake cleaner as well, all you need is a wire brush.

As to colour I think thats down to personal choice, red for the 22b look, black is fairly subtle

I just like fiddling with it

I've only really done the brakes (Legacy brakes are crap - same as an older Impreza with a heavier car), Intake, Lights (Subaru crap headlights and I have a 90mile drive down lanes every day) and a few interior mods like gauges and Ice)

The tinted windows, deflectors etc are standard on imported GTBs

(and it saves me getting bored )

What would I want with wings, I thought big wings were only allowed on Imprezas
