Snow Chains

Yes i know it's a strange one for this time of year but i am trying to get hold of snow chains for 16" wheels. I've tried a main dealer without success and they haven't got a clue where i could get them.

Have you tried the AA? Apparantly they have them available for hire - or so I was told.
Might need a set myself for a trip to the mountainous regions of France next year ... but I think the odds of finding them for 17"s is slim!
Could have to find a set of 15" wheels and invest in some winter performance tyres ... although my wallet doesn't like the sound of that.
I'd be interested in what you find out.

Thanks for your replies.
I tried the AA who put me in touch with a hire company. They're called Snowchain Europe Tel 01732 884408, they're based in Kent (en route to Dover luckily enough) and quoted £29.50 for a 12 day hire.
Andy - i asked about 17" wheels (215x40x17 i assumed) and they can do them for the same price.
The AA shop in Dover also has limited stocks for purchase - Tel 01304 201335
