C-Tech/Mintex 1166 pads
Has anyone tried them ?
I'm currently using 1155 pads, but find that I can still get a bit of fade on them.
Wondered if it's worth changing this time to 1166 compound.

depends on what type of "fade" you are experiencing............there are a number of factors, not all related to the pads!!
probs. recomend other makers if you are thinking of 1166.................
post or mail some further info. of your probs. and se where you are at.......

My mate uses 1166's on his STi6 rally car for gravel. Never had any fade. IMHO try Pagid blue RS4-2 pads. They are better all round and don't produce as much dust.

I run a STi 2, with 4 pots off a P1 on the front, Black Diamond drilled/ grooved disks, braded hoses, decient brake fluid, thats changed twice a year.
The STi, do have cooling ducts built in, and this is Scotland so not much heat ;-) 17" Raceline wheels on the road, and standard 16" wheels on track.
After a good/fast cross country drive, I find that the brake pedal has less and less effect as I brake, you need a good shove to slow the car.
I do tend to be hard on brakes, i.e 3 laps of Knockhill had EBC redstuff in flames.

Not suprised redstuff is a road pad and not suitable for any track use

before complaining about a product you should make sure you have the correct pads on for the driving you are doing

I work for EBC so i have got all the info
we will conceed that when we first launched our materials redstuff was marketed as road/track but revised this about year 2000 when the yellowstuff was launched
we have been trying to change our stockists info since then but many seem to be taking very little notice of our notifications.
the current info is as follows
greenstuff hot hatch fiesta golf punto civic etc road only
redstuff 200bhp+ 4wd turbo cars M3 M5 impreza evo etc road only
redstuff ceramic as above inc trackday use
yellowstuff race /rally
we are trying via this website to get our best information out to our customers
